Salt Lake City Marathon April 17th 2010

Cassi and I after we both finished the race! What a great feeling!

Ryan at the Finish Line

Me at the Finish Line

Billy at The Finish Line

Cassi at the Finish Line

Jimmy at the Finish Line

We went out to salt lake the night before our race and all went out to dinner. We ate at an Italian Restaurant at the Gateway. Cassi brought us our shirts and they turned out so great. I loved them sooo much. On the day of our race we had people come up to us and ask us how we knew MarShel, and I was very proud to say that she was my cousin. She was such an inspiration to so many people everywhere she went. She always had a smile on her face even when she didn't feel very good. We started our race at the Legacy bridge in salt lake and finished at the gateway. It was so much fun, it was a great feeling crossing the finish line. Me, Ryan, Cassi, Billy and Jimmy all ran the half and Amelia, Tara and my dad ran the 5K. I can't wait to do another race. I love you MarShel and I think of you everyday. You are always in my heart! I miss you!

Baking some easter cupcakes!

April 4th 2010
This year for Easter my family from las vegas came down to celebrate with us. We always have so much fun when they come. Savannah and I baked some Easter cupcakes and then we colored Easter eggs. Easter morning Savannah got her Easter basket and found eggs and then we went to jalee and chases new house for lunch. I ended up with the stomach flu that afternoon so i didn't really get to enjoy the Easter lunch! I laid around and slept all day, and then i think the rest of my family got it the next day, so sorry everyone.

Emily's Baby Shower

The Vernal Gang!

Sunday March 7th, 2010
Cassi had Emily a baby shower at her and JF's house. It was so nice and so yummy! JF is an amazing cook and of course made all the food. It was so fun to spend that time with Emily. We have been friends since we were about four years old and i can still remember playing with her when we were little. I feel so lucky to have such a special friend like Emily. I wish we lived in the same town so we could do more together. I can't wait to meet little baby Austyn, he is going to be beautiful and have the greatest parents in the world. Chris and Emily will do a great job raising him! I love you Emily!!

I run for ME (Marshel Erickson)

So I haven't blogged in a while so here is a little of what i have been up to. Ryan and I decided to sign up for the Salt Lake City Marathon. We got our little training program and have been running every week. I have wanted to do something in honour of Marshel and I thought this would be a great opportunity. My cousin Cassi is also doing it with us along with Jimmy and Amelia. We are going to be wearing shirts that say " I run for ME in memory of marshel erickson. I think about her a lot and I am missing her so much. The marathon proceeds go to the Huntsman Cancer Institute University of Utah. She was such an inspiration to me and so many people. The race is April 17th.

Maui Hawaii January 2010

Ryan's parents took us to Maui this year for our Christmas present. It was so much fun. Savannah loves swimming in the pool and the playing in the ocean waves and the sand. It was really relaxing. We just hung out by the pool and lounged around. They have great food, I love fish so I love all the food there. There was lots of whales this time of year, so it was really fun to watch them. Savannah payed on the pirate ship, and met lots of little girls to play with. She also had her daddy to play with her, he was so good to do everything with her! Thanks Charlie and Denise for the trip, it was great!!

Playing in the Snow!

A couple Saturdays ago, Amelia and I decided to bundle up the twins and Savannah and play outside. We tried to make a little sledding hill in the front of her fence. It was good to get out of the house. Savannah like it for a while then she was whining cause she needed a bigger hill. But it was perfect for the twins! The next day her dad took her sledding at yellow hill, but of course didn't take any pictures. Hope everyone is having a good freezing cold winter!!

Merry Christmas

For Christmas this year Savannah asked for a vanity, and a changing table for her baby. Then a couple of weeks or so before Christmas she thought she would send Santa another letter asking for a kitty too. She has a stuffed kitten that is orange and white and she wanted one just like that one. So as you can see, Santa brought her a kitty! She told us on Christmas eve if Santa brought her a boy kitty she would name him copper and a girl kitty Chloe. So Copper it is! On Christmas morning I had over my family and Ryan's family for breakfast, it was crazy but lots of fun! Savannah had a great Christmas, she must have been really good because she got everything she asked for and MORE!!
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We had a great Christmas. I am very blessed to have such a great family. Sometimes the holidays are hard because we miss loved ones that have passed. We really missed MarShel this holiday season and always, but know she is always with us. Savannah calls her, her guardian angle. That I know is true!
